Is it just me or has this year flown by? It’s October already! (Happy Fall by the way!)
It’s moving into that time of year again so many of us are starting to prepare early. I know I definitely am.
The main concern for many during this season is getting through it while keeping your financial situation in good standing.
No need to stress though, as I have some ideas to help you make extra money for the holidays this year.
Disclosure: This post does contain affiliate links. That means that if you click the link and/or make a purchase, I receive a commission. Don’t worry, this is at no extra cost to you. Thank you for your support! ♡
Most of these also apply for the rest of the year too though! So no need to limit just for the holiday season.
Most of these I have done myself at one time or another (one currently), and depending on how much you are actually wanting to make may help you choose the right option for you.
Let’s get started!
1. Sell extra or unwanted items
This is probably the very easiest of them all. Simply gather up any items your willing to part ways with, and set them up for sale on a website or app.
2. Start a seasonal holiday position
There are many companies that hire extra help just for the holiday season. This is a great way to make some extra money and also potentially some extra deals that employees only receive!
Some of these companies are Bath & Body Works, Macys, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Sears, Target, and Amazon. There are definitely more though, and be sure to check locally for any small business openings as well!
This is the one idea that is solely for holiday seasons, and while company positions are mainly for Christmas time, there are other temporary jobs that open up for holidays such as haunted hayrides/houses for Halloween and Easter bunny photography for Easter!
3. Random side gigs
This is very broad and can pertain to almost anything.
Side gigs can be anything from pet/house sitting, cleaning, transportation, babysitting, and more. Small writing jobs or some virtual/personal assisting are a few other ideas.
Basically, anything that is a small job meant simply to get some extra cash is what would fall under this.
Doing surveys is a pretty simple way to earn extra. The options are very vast and include many different payout and reward options.
Some will give straight cash while others strictly payout via gift cards or at least have the option.
My top favorite is Swagbucks (my link here for a 300 SB bonus!) but there are many more to choose from.
I have a full blog post on them located here for even more information!: How To Make Money With Surveys Online!
5. Start a side hustle
When it comes to an actual side hustle, this is more so something you are seriously trying to build in addition to work you’re already doing.
Of course, this takes time, but money earned along the way always helps.
This could be something in person at a job site or online/at home on your own.
Some excellent ideas for online side hustles would be blogging in general, writing, assisting, consulting, artwork/illustration, photography, videos/Youtube, and more.
I have some blog posts dedicated to more detail about these options, so check them out if you’re interested!: How To Start Freelance Writing, How To Start An Affordable Blog, and Freelance Businesses You Can Start From Anywhere
Even though it’s a busy time, it is an amazing time of year. The excitement is already building.
Take the stress out of it and just enjoy by making sure your financially sound.
