It is SO easy to get caught up in the daily grind, putting your all into every minute of the day.
While working towards your dreams and goals, don’t forget about the most important thing – YOU!
With our busy lives, it’s easy to overlook and just go with the flow.
We need to take care of ourselves, mentally and physically.
If you’re like me, you do your best when you’re feeling your best. So, here are some ideas to get you back to your best self fast!
1. Unplug from all devices for awhile
Recently, many people have been taking digital breaks. Getting off social media and taking their eyes away from all of their screens.
This can have an incredibly positive effect on you.
Those who do this typically report that they feel more relaxed, rejuvenated, and inspired afterward.
That it was great to get away from the constant social buzz.
Trying to keep up with everyone constantly and working to get to the top can be exhausting.
So go incognito for awhile!
2. Praise and uplift yourself for your strengths and what you HAVE accomplished
It’s easy to feel down about yourself sometimes. You might not feel as successful as you want to be, or you made a mistake or two.
It’s okay. Just breathe and focus on the positive!
Once you start replacing negative thoughts and feelings with positive ones, it can make a huge difference.
You are amazing, and don’t let anyone, especially yourself, forget that!
3. Work it out
Fast food on the way home and a tv marathon can be tempting after an already busy day, but try to overcome those thoughts and feelings! At least for a little while.
Working out regularly is important and very good for you! It can also be extremely therapeutic.
I know myself that after a good workout (even if I didn’t want to start to begin with), I always feel better.
Like a new woman!
Doing it in the morning can help get you pumped up for the whole day, while doing it at night can help get any extra energy or frustration out so that you may be able to sleep better. You’ll be able to take on the next day like a champ.
It just depends on what time is right for you!
4. Take that Lush bath you’ve been dreaming about
Whether you take Lush baths or not, any nice hot bath is absolutely amazing!
The soothing heat helps on its own, but if you use a bath bomb, bubbles, or oils it can take your bath to a whole new level.
Different scents can also influence your mood, so you can choose accordingly.
Now, you don’t have to soak in a bath for hours on end (if you’re a busy person like me, this is for you).
A little while is enough. Sometimes I only have 10-15 minutes to spare, but it’s still worth it every time.
If you need time to think of ideas or reflect on your day, this is a perfect time. Or just empty your mind for a while!
5. Let out your thoughts and feelings
Sometimes you just need to let things out. And that’s okay!
Whether you’re someone who likes to communicate these things with another actual person, you prefer to journal privately, or handle feelings through art, don’t be afraid to just let it all out sometimes.
Bottling up feelings and emotions can destroy your inner peace and affect your day to day overall mood.
Sometimes it can cause you to lash out or be someone you normally wouldn’t be.
When you are busy, stress can build up VERY quickly.
So regularly taking the time to decompress is very important.
Just remember, it’s always okay to take time for yourself! Self care is self love.
